AHSC # 79

Hello Crafty Friends,
Well after a long day I finally got my card for the design team done.....23:20 and boy am I tired....so here is the sketch....
and here is my card...
I used a retired stamp set and a new technique I found on pintrest (dont you just love that site!) called Diamond dust. Basically I random stamped snowflakes in slate, blush, and the new purple thistle and then covered with versa mark, clear emboss powder, heat set it, then added sparkles and heat it again. I love how it turned out.
Good night for now

Hello Crafty Friends,
Happy thanksgiving to anyone celebrating today! I love this holiday, my mom is an amazing cook :)
but I digress, here is the sketch that we are following this week for Atlantic Hearts sketch challange
and here is my interpretation of the sketch......

I used calk it up paper because I haven't ordered snow haven yet and used all my Yuletide carol up :)
Its just straight stamped and the photo isn't the greatest. Sorry about that....
Until next time!

September Cross Canada blog Hop

Hello Crafty Friends!
Wow what a busy week for me this week. :) The Cross Canada team is excited to show you what OUR favorite products are.....If you have come from Brae's blog then you are in the right place....
So My favorite things with this new idea book are some of the new stamp sets. I love Christmas and making Christmas cards so the Sing Glory hostess stamp C1587 and Home for the Holidays Stamp of the month S1410 are two of my favorite. Here are some of the cards I have made with them.
First one uses the new sea side paper pack. I love taking non Christmas paper and making Christmas cards
This next card uses some retired paper, cricut cut snow fakes and glitter paper :)

This card uses the same retired paper but I made it into a shaker card...see my post yesterday on instructions on how to make a shaker card if you dont know how :)

This card uses the new yultide paper pack. The angle was so pretty, I just embossed it in black. very simple. Cant wait to use it more.
And now some cards with the Christmas post stamp set....also a fun one, especially for colouring.

Now please hop over to Carol's blog and see what her favorite items are. What is YOUR favorite?

Team "Back to School" blog hop

Hello Crafty Friends!
I am really excited about this months team blog hop!! The team members of the brae-ers are showing you different tutorials!!  If you have come from Heather's blog then you are in the right place....My technique is on how to make a shaker card :)  These are always very popular and really very easy. Please follow along with me :) start with your supplies, you will need acetate (overhead projector) paper and double sided pop up tape
Stamp your image on a piece of cardstock or B&T paper. Here I used the angle from
next line the image with the double sided tape,  I cut ours in half to keep it thin and go farther.
Make sure there are no gaps in the tape or shaker stuff will leak out of your card.

cut a frame either with the cruicut or by hand. This time I just did it by hand.
Cut the acetate the same size and adhere with our tombo adhesive

Add beads, glitter, whatever you would like, smaller the better...dont remove the backing to the double sided tape yet or the beads will stick to that and not close tightly enough.

Then remove the other side of the sticky tape and put the frame with the acetate on the top of the image.

Now you have an image that you can place anywhere. Next step is to finish your card

I used the new Yuletide paper and \i am very happy with how my card turned out.
Here is another example with a different type of frame...old card I keep around for examples

And here is an example of how I used a shaker box on a layout. I added "sand" and the main image was a picture. Sorry its sideways.

I hope you have found my tutorial helpful or inspiring. Now hop on to Brae's Blog to see her tutorial. If you dont have a consultant and you would like to order the products used please message me or you can shop Here at my web site

And I was playing with the new sea side paper pack and the stamp set D1609 Seaside Greetings and this is the card I have made....
I stamped the image in desert sand and used the blending pen and the ink pads to colour the image, added a little bit of retired sparkles and dollar store hemp twine and free handed the birds because it just needed then and there you go! I love how peaceful this card feels!
What will you make with this sketch?
